So last week, I tried a new recipe. Ok that so did not go over very well. it must've been too much ginger or something. i tried to do thai chicken with basil stir fry. (I just reread some directions, and what other people suggested, hmmmm... perhaps i didn't use the right kind of ginger) I don't know. Needless to say, i did not eat the leftovers. it was pretty bad. I ate it the first time, but after that, noooo.
I will say asian sauces are difficult for me to make.
Last night, I decided to try out this recipe from Good Things Catered, she had a couple recipes that came up last week that seemed easy enough to make - Sesame Chicken & Sesame Noodles! the chicken recipe I pretty much followed it, I just cut it by quarters cuz I only make enough for 1, he doesn't eat leftovers. and I couldn't find black sesame seeds. Nonetheless, the taste I had of the chicken, I thought was awesome, he thought it was ok - I'll just make a little less breading next time, maybe even try it with panko bread crumbs. and I so want to try this with tuna.
The sesame noodles -- instead of adding the carrots to the pasta, i sauteed it with leeks and broccoli. OHMYGOD this was good! I might add a little more soy sauce next time, but i loved it! I tend to add more veggies to things than what recipes call for. So another recipe i will totally make again! I'm happy!
Any recipes you think I might like, send them my way. As long as it's not too many steps. and nothing too obscure, I for some reason have so much difficulty finding specialty items.
