Goes to say, you never know!

Well a few interesting things have happened.

My niece doesn't care for me at the moment. To give her a bit of credit, she's been sick all week. she's probably trying to get as much mommy time as she can possibly get before the next kid comes in May. But it's awful when she screams if i try  to pick her up. and I'm hoping it's just an early form of the terrible two's. and it's over soon! Ummph. she is only 20 months. I should bear with her. At least the other 2 like me. haha!

Location stuff. First we scouted out ft. lauderdale.

We looked at a cafe/restaurant. Not a chance. they couldn't confirm a date until May. And they don't book anything on sundays, which is what i wanted. There was potential. but no.

then we went to a hotel that was nearby. Eh. it just looked like pretty much any other hotel. The food menu was reasonable. But the site fee was STEEP! it just seemed ridiculous! and the beach wasn't big. Plus they were undergoing so much renovations, so you solely had to "picture it"

Then we went to a couple places near where my parents live. One was a restaurant. i could see it being pretty. Another was a beach front restaurant - but it was disjointed from the beach view. So there wasn't much of a point. and the ocean side -- oh it'd be way too windy to have it there! so -- having it on the Atlantic Coast - totally out of the question.

Plus - there really isn't much to do there! no joke! it's one of those places where you just hang out and do nothing all day long, by the pool. it's a lounging vacation, but i want people to have FUN! i mean, if we have it there, might as well have it at my parents' house in MD.

Which is totally not what i want - I want an island wedding. So I showed fiancé the food menus of places i've been seeing in Fl. totally outrageous. Then i showed him one place in Jamaica. Completely reasonable, and it was GORGEOUS! I'm waiting to hear from 2 other sites in Puerto Rico.

I want a place where people can just go and hang out at a resort, and the resort have tons of things for people to do. not really finding that.

The ironic thing is I thought location would be easy. hah!

What is easy - wedding dress shopping. This ironically was the part i was dreading!!!! We tried to go on Wednesday, but one was closed for the week since they were moving. Another was closed that day (it didn't say so online!). So we returned on thursday. And just walked in, she told us to look then she'd help us. I gave her a bunch of pictures for her to reference on.

Really - it was a whole lot more fun than I ever expected! I must've tried on 15 dresses. Pretty much everything looked good on me. Shocked me. I swear the lady was just playing dress up with me cuz i was putting all sorts of dresses on. and when i was done, she wasn't. she always had a couple more dresses for me to try on. i think we were there for nearly 3 hours. and the interesting thing is - she totally knew we were buying that day, but she wanted me to see what worked for me. She gave me a bunch of ideas in terms of what will work for me. We all liked the first and last one, there was one in between that my mom and i liked but my Grandma Charlene called it clamshell. Hmmph. so more dress shopping is in store over christmas break when my older sister's here.

it seems like i'm basically gonna have to try to buy around then. Eek!

i'm so done on looking for locations. Blah.
